September 1, 2006 - Russia
Miami East 247 Russia 240
The Miami East Girl’s Golf Team faced the Russia Raiders at Hidden Lake Golf Course in Tipp City. Just as suspected, the match turned out to be very close. Both Coach Vanover and Coach Stubbs thought that the Lady Vikings might be able to pick up their second win of the season; however, things did not go well for the Vikings, as they shot one of their worst score of the year. They lost to Russia 247–240. Brooke Vanover 52. Sarah Meyer 71. Katelyn Fourman 65. Hannah Long 68. Sydney Gibson 62. Kelsey Wintrow 81. Record: Season 1–5, League 1–5.
August 29, 2006 - Covington and Franklin Monroe Tri
The Miami East Girl’s Golf Team participate in their first tri-match. Unfortunately, they fell short and lost both matches, but stayed very consistent with their scores shooting a 228. However, it was not good enough to beat Covington’s 182 and Franklin Monroe’s 207. The two bright spots of the day were Brooke Vanover’s 49 and Sydney Gibson’s 57. Both were personal best for these two young ladies. Brooke’s score is the teams first score in the forties. Brooke Vanover 49. Sarah Meyer 64. Katelyn Fourman 66. Hannah Long 60. Sydney Gibson 57. Carmen Macy 62. Record: Season 1–4, League 1–4.

The Miami East Girl’s Golf Team ran into a very good Covington that was loaded with experience. In the end, the Vikings were able to improve, but they were not able to take down the Buccaneers of Covington. They lost the match 227 – 210. Sarah Meyer shot at 52 for her best round of the year. Just one day after losing their first match, the Miami East Girl’s Golf Team bounced back strong winning in only their second match of the season. The Vikings showed that yesterday’s loss was nothing more than a bad case of the nerves. Not only did they win, but they also improved their scores by 28 strokes. The Vikings beat National Trail 228 – 252, and evened their record to 1 – 1. Brooke Vanover 54. Sarah Meyer 58. Katelyn Fourman 59. Hannah Long 57. Sydney Gibson 65. Carmen Macy 75.
