Currently, they are tied for second place in the league. They will be competing in the CCC league tournament on Friday, where they will have to take down the Newton Indians if they hope to secure a league title. Zach James 38. Trevor Coomes 41. It was a good test for the young Vikings. The Vikings turned in their best 18 hole team score of the year, as they shot 335. What is impressive about this improvement is the fact that they played the tournament in the fog. They also played the tournament from the blue tees. Zach James 82. Trevor Coomes 85. Carl Knife 83. Ray Knife 87. Samson Meyer 85. Tyler O’Neal 96. Record - Season: 6–4. League: 6–3.

September 8, 2006 - Troy Match
Miami East 165 Troy 172
The Miami East Boy’s Golf Team faced the Trojans of Troy High School at Hidden Lake Golf Course. This is the first time these two teams have squared off in a long time. Both coaches hope that this yearly match will become a very good county rivalry over the course of the next couple of years. Unfortunately, the Vikings will have to wait until next year to even the score, as they fell short in their bid to upset a very good Troy team 172-165. Coach Vanover and Coach Stubbs were glad to see that the Vikings put up some good numbers against a very formidable opponent. If the Vikings keep playing this way, good things are bound to happen for them as they head into tournament play. Zach James 41. Trevor Coomes 40. Carl Knife 45. Ray Knife 55. Logan Carey 47. Matt Nichols 46. Record - Season: 3–4. League: 3–3

Things do not get any easier for the Vikings, as they face the Trojans of Troy tomorrow in what should be a good match. Zach James 36. Trevor Coomes 49. Carl Knife 48. Ray Knife 40. Samson Meyer 44. to get away with a victory even though they shot their worst score of
the year. The Vikings squeaked by the Tigers 188-189. Coach Vanover and

Golf Course in Arcanum. Just as suspected, the match turned out to be a
very close. It was the Vikings first real test of the year, and
unfortunately they fell short in their bid to get their third win. The
Vikings lost to Arcanum 178 -168, Coach Vanover and Coach Stubbs are
very pleased with the way his team is performing; however, he still

something that they had not done in the two years. The team is making
some great strides this season, and Coach Vanover and Coach Stubbs are

impressive scores this year. Zach James 38. Trevor Coomes 38.

fell short in their bid to start the season 2-0. The Vikings lost to the
Indians of Newton in what turned out to be a very tight match. The
Vikings shot 174, which was not good enough to overcome Urbana’s 171.

not be the trend throughout the season. Zach James 41.
